Music for my film

I have researched different artists and I like the jazz artist Miles Davis. I think his music will suit my film as it is reflecting the era.

The song is called 'Nuit Sur Les Champs-Elysees'. It doesn't have any lyrics so I will use this when the character Nancy is narrating.

Plan

22/01/12 - I will record the voice over for my film for the detective scene and also I will film the detectives scene. I will need to take the script for my actors and make sure they all have the appropriate costumes.

The costumes for this scene will be;
Detective: A white shirt, black trouser braces, black trousers, black shoes and a cigar
Nancy: A white frilly dress with a thin belt, black heels, long black jacket and a cigarette

Filming - 18/01/12

I filmed in Old Town down an alleyway for my first scene where the character Johnny was being followed by the murderer. By the time I got to the end of filming the scene it got too dark so I had to stop. I will film again on the 21/01/12 but I will film in the detective office scene. I have designed the room to make it look like a detectives office by adding a desk, chairs, props such as an old telephone, old electric fan and a bookshelf. This will make the scene more realistic and it sets the era.

Plan

08/01/2012

I will take photos of the actors and camera angles which I am going to use in my film.

13/01/12

I will book a camera and start filming on the 14/01/12. The scenes I am going to film will be with Nancy and the Detective in the detectives office and also the scenes with Nancy meeting up with the gangster. I will also film the scenes with Johnny being followed and murdered.

15/01/12

I will film the scenes of the gang in the club.

The specific shots I will do is the high angle when Nancy and the gangster are meeting. I will try and do this so you can see the old fashioned  lamp post so it connotes Nancy as vulnerable as she is with the gangster. The gangster will be the more dominant character in this scene.

Costume update

Here are some images of some ideas for Johnny's costume. The striped jacket has a pocket where I could put a hankerchief in to make it more conventional of gang clothing. I am not going to use the shirt in the last photo as it will clash with the striped jacket. I am going to use a white shirt which connotes the innocent side to him. I am going to have him wear a black tie and black braces similar to the last photograph.
For the detectives costume I have got a brown gun holster and a fake gun, a white shirt, a long black coat, a hat and black shoes. The black connotes the mysterious side to the detective as the characters don't know much about him. The gun and gun holster will make him look more threatening and dominant.
